Dave the Diver, the hit indie game from 2023, makes its way to PS5 in 2024 and he'll face off against Godzilla shortly after. If you're a Godzilla fan like me, then it's easy to see why that's a big deal.
Dave the Diver crosses over with Godzilla
Godzilla celebrates his 70th birthday in 2024, and he's not showing any signs of old age as he's going to be terrorizing the waters of Dave the Diver beginning in May. Not a whole lot is known about how he'll be incorporated into the game, but it doesn't look like he's going to be friendly.
Before Godzilla makes his debut in the game, which will be happening across all platforms, Dave the Diver will be released on the PS5. The game was first available on PC and it was released on Nintendo Switch shortly after, so it was only a matter of time before it expanded to other consoles.
When does Dave the Diver release on PS5?
Dave the Diver will be coming to PS5 a month before the Godzilla DLC, so it can be expected to drop at some point in April 2024. An exact release date wasn't given, but the developers will certainly share more information as we draw closer to April. It will also be released on PS4 for those of you who haven't made the jump to the current generation just yet.
If you're unsure about what the game is exactly, don't worry because you're not alone. This indie title blends many genres, so it's best described as a mix of roguelikes and time management games. If you've ever wanted to explore the deep trenches of the ocean, and perhaps run into Godzilla while you're down there, then this is your game.
