Activitypub should be included
-
With the rise of federated social media it seems a no brainer to have WordPress offer an Activitypub feature as they already offer Facebook and corporate social media features. This way blogs can be followed by people on federated platforms like Mastodon, Peertube, Friendica, Pleroma, Pixelfed, and all of the other servers using the Activitypub protocol. That’s potentially millions of new visitors.
WordPress and it’s users can only benefit from this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I agree. Another benefit is that commentary will be exchanged across platforms, making for a stronger and wider sense of community.
I’d like to see it implemented similar to the Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr, so that WordPress posts can be automatically propagated to the linked ActivityPub platforms.
There are plugins that support ActivityPub, but that means you need the WP Business tier, and it seems that adding a plugin will remove the WordPress Follow button, as well as replies to comments via email – which is unfortunate.

I know that with business tier you can use the plugin. That’s why I think it should be a feature to all tiers like Twitter and Facebook connection is. It just seems like such an easy win for users and WordPress.
